The sun failed to break through the thick
layer of clouds since sunrise. And this was to remain until sunset.
A perfect start for WPC Fun Drive to Bukit Tinggi. 'High Hills Sunday Drive' was the theme by the organisers.

Family outing seemed to be another theme, with participants gathered their family members to join in the fun. Our organiser was thoughtful to split the group to two, the experienced drivers at the front to set the pace, and the family cars to play catch up with the front runners. Safe and in control to your abilities and preferences.
We began with a drivers' briefing by both Azlan and Zul. Marshalls were given their respective duties and participants lined up for the journey. At nine sharp, we joined the Sunday traffic and headed to the mountains. Along the way, we passed Batu Caves and the little town of Ulu Yam.
We then began our climb towards Gohtong Jaya. The twisty roads tested the handling of both the cars and the driver's ability to negotiate the corners. While the raw power kicked in when necessary to counter the steep road that appeared behind each turn. The marshalling were smooth and the message of safety and discipline were clearly displayed by each participants.
Upon reaching the Genting Skyway station, we began our descent to Genting Sempah for the much needed breakfast break. The way down was faster, with the little Sunday traffic in our favour. This time, the Waja's braking ability while descending was put to test.
After the stop at the Genting Sempah R&R, we hit the East-Coast Highway to complete our drive to Bukit Tinggi. Our destination, the rabbit farm and the bowling centre respectively to cater to both the families with kids and the seasoned and amateur bowlers in our club.

As promised by the organiser, the road up Bukit Tinggi was much challenging but easier to negotiate compared to Genting. This stretch features combination of short and sharp turns coupled with a consistent climb and series of tricky blind corners. However, the visibility of the next turn in most bends and the virtually empty road make up for this fun and pacey drive.
The greenery and spectacular mountains stood as the grand backdrop to our picturesque outing. And we arrived in full parade at the rabbit farm for the kids to have their turn of joy. Next, we hiked the short trip up to the bowling centre for a good rest and an equally good game of friendly bowling. A group photo ended our excursion in Bukit Tinggi.

It was then time to descent the hill to end what has been a fantastic fun drive to all participants. Again, the marshall showed great responsibility to usher us safely down. Credit to the club for organising, together with the great marshalling led by Azlan and Zul for their professionalism and brave convoy skills. And the participants for the good show of discipline and adherence to safety.

Indeed, a fabulous day-out in the mountains.
Thanks again to all
WPC comms. Great event for all of us.
