Waja Performance Club Fun Drive - Sabah Edition
After observing
our friends in Waja Performance Club (WPC) in West Malaysia
having so much fun with their club activities, a few of Proton
Waja enthusiast in Kota Kinabalu decided to start our very
own unofficial WPC here. It started only recently with our
first gathering at a local food centre here in Kota Kinabalu.
About 4 of us turned up and discussed about setting up the
club here and getting other owners to join us.
From that gathering
session, we decided to have our first fun drive in the city
area visiting various landmarks on Sunday, 23rd March 2003.
We started our fun drive by gathering at the Esso Station
along Lintas Highway. There were four of us and after gathering
at the petrol station at about 10.30am, we proceeded with
our fun drive towards University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Along
the way, many other Waja owners caught a glimpse of us in
the convoy and looked very curious.
We got to
UMS about 10.45am and went straight to their marine research
faculty which is located by the sea side equipped with jetty.
We parked our cars along side each other and took photos of
it with the sea as the background. After having enough photo
sessions, we proceeded to drive around the campus, witnessed
by some students and members of the public in the university.
After that,
we decided to go to the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque which is
located along the costal road. We stopped by the road side
and parked our cars back to back to each other. Again, we
took a few photos. There were a lot of Wajas passed by as
well and watched us with curiosity. Some other drivers even
gave us a hello honk from their cars!
As some had
to get back to work, we completed our fun drive there with
a plan to visit a Wajarian's uncle's spray paint shop next
week for some spray paint project.

Note:
Proton Waja owners in Kota Kinabalu or Sabah are invited to
join the unofficial club. Activities such as charity work/drive,
gatherings, visit to service centres, appointing workshops,
car accessories shops will be organized stage by stage.
